This blog is an ongoing project by Mike Maddaloni, president of Dunkirk Systems, LLC, to archive the myriad of tech tips and resources he has collected along his 10+ years as a Web developer.
sourcegate is now running the latest release of ExpressionEngine, 1.6. The upgrade was straightforward a model for Web-based packaged applications.
Of course thorough testing continues, and please let me know if you find anything out of the ordinary, or different from what you would expect from this little blog.
And no, I don’t run WordPress. Nothing against the world’s most widely used blog engine, but I came upon EE and liked it a lot!
For the few of you that actually know about sourcegate and use it, I am letting you know that the site will be moving and improving!
As this site was my first foray into blogging, I decided to kill two birds with one stone - learn a little about blogging, and try to collect the myriad of tech tools I have into one place. I did that, but I was never really ready to officially “launch” it, so it remained a backburner project.
Along the way I launched a blog for a client using ExpressionEngine, and I really liked the tool, so much that I setup and launched a blog for myself, The Hot Iron, on the platform. I have decided to move sourcegate to EE, and will do so over the coming weeks. It will be down at this address soon.
I have temporarily moved the site to my business Web site, and you will be able to access it here for a short time:
I will not be posting anything else until sourcegate is up on EE and I migrate the content over to the new platform. As I write this, I noticed the RSS feeds are not working there, and I probably won’t fix that… they will work on the new site, and will be using FeedBurner as does The Hot Iron.
